How this site is written
Editorial standards.
Who pays for this, what would make a page change, and the conflicts that exist — stated before you ask.
Independence
No treatment provider pays for anything on this site. No referral fee, commission, finder's fee, retainer, advertising, sponsorship, affiliate arrangement or hospitality has ever been accepted from a clinic, a detox unit, a broker, a fellowship or a medication provider, and none will be. There is no arrangement under which a clinic can appear here, improve its position here, or have criticism removed.
The site is funded by network membership, which is bought and managed at contented.guide. That is the entire commercial relationship, and it is with the reader rather than with the industry the site writes about.
Declared conflict
James was a paying patient at Delamere, a residential treatment centre in Cheshire, in 2020. That is the origin of this work and it is a conflict, so it is declared wherever it could matter. That centre receives no favourable treatment here, is not named as the best, and is compared on the same basis as any other. If it appears in any comparison, the connection is stated on the page itself.
Where figures come from
Cost figures are ranges assembled from published provider information, public guidance and direct enquiry, and they are dated in the text. They are a snapshot of a market that moves, not a quote from anybody. Clinical statements are kept to what national clinical guidance and national health service information already say plainly, and they are linked where possible.
Nothing here invents a statistic. Where a number is not known, this site says it is not known, which is a great deal more often than the rest of the internet on this subject admits.
What this site will not publish
Detox instructions, doses, tapering schedules or anything else that could be followed instead of seeing a doctor. Named recommendations of one clinic over another. Success rates, which in this industry are almost never independently verified. Before-and-after stories used as persuasion. Anything that treats another person's recovery as a device for making a point.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, it gets changed rather than defended, and the correction is made on the page where the error was. Anything material — a figure, a clinical statement, a claim about a provider — is corrected within seven days of being shown to be wrong. Tell the site through the guide, or through the contact route at contented.guide.
How the SI (super intelligence) guide is governed
The guide runs on a written brief that sets what it may and may not say. It may not diagnose, rate severity, instruct a detox, name a best clinic, quote a price for anything, or moralise about drinking. A separate safety check runs on every message, and where it fires, the ordinary conversation stops and the safety routes are given instead — never shortened, never counted against an allowance, and never accompanied by anything commercial.
The guide is an SI and can be wrong. It says so on every page it appears on.
